This Saturday ESPN will premiere it's Spike Lee directed documentary of Kobe Bryant, with a deeper look at how Kobe feels, and lives basketball in the NBA. According to Spike he was granted unlimited access with the superstar Kobe Bryant, and the Los Angeles Lakers. There were no shortage of footage being that Spike used 30 cameras to follow Kobe throughout this documentary. One thing is very clear when watching this excellent directed peace of work is that Kobe Bryant has a indescribable passion for not just playing the game but dominating the game in every way imaginable. Which at different points of his career has been his strentgh, and at times been his weakness, but once he learned a way to balance that burning to desire it allowed him to elevate his game in other ways. For example in his early years in the league he was considered a spoiled talented brat that LOVED to shoot and show off, then later he matured and began to win Championships, with SHAQ, and Phil Jackson. Then his passion to show and prove showed up and began to sour relationships with SHAQ, and Phil which lead to the Lakers breaking up. Now Kobe has reached another part of his carerr, and his passion is winning a ring without Shaquile O'neal. And that is where he is, as of today. Regardless if Kobe ever repairs his image all the way, like before his rape allegations when he was appearing in every other commercial like Lebron James is right now, who know's but one thing is for sure, and that is he will be remembered as one of the best competitors that have come in NBA.

A man identifying himself as Henry’s uncle say they believe they know the who the gunman is. “She had a stalker boyfriend,” he told WMAQ in Chicago. “And she had a restraining order against him and she was trying to avoid all this. Eddy Curry’s 3 year old son was not hurt in the incident. Curry has had it rough in the past few years, being robbed at his Chicago home in 2007 and being sued by his former driver last month. Females must be careful with who they mess with, too many crazy stalkers out there. Over a million woman are stalked annually. New York Knicks’ forward Eddy Curry’s home in suburban Chicago was reportedly broken into early Saturday morning, police said. Dontknow3 presents part three of our series Hoop Dreamz turn to Nightmares The Eddie Griffin Story, Former NBA player born Eddie Griffin from Philadelphia, Pa started off with a very promising basketball career. It began with a solid freshman campaign at Seton Hall University where Griffin averaged a double double with 17 ppg and 10 reb these are the numbers that had NBA scouts salivating over the potential of the versatile 6-10 freshman. Also with the great upside he displayed on the court there definitely was an equal downside with his off court behavior, Eddie Griffin got in to a fight with a Seton Hall teammate which subsequently ended the pirates season. Following this Griffin entered the NBA draft where he began his journey to live his Hoop Dream by becoming a NBA player and that he did, but from the fight and question's about his attitude he slipped to the 7th pick which is nothing to feel bad about.

His first two season's began with Eddie Griffin looking like he was worth all of the hype by posting respectable numbers but once again it was the off court situations that where becoming a constant problem for the young NBA star. So by his third season Griffin realized he suffered from alcoholism and checked in to rehab for the entire 2004 season. After this you would think things are going to get better by the fact Griffin went to get help, but just the opposite took place , his problems began to take on a snowball effect in his life one after the other. He signed a contract with the Minnesota Timber-wolves, but was released for his attitude, missing practice and a team flight at this point the NBA dream has turned completely in to a nightmare. Griffin also had some child support problems with the mother of his child, I guess with his career going down and personal life he did what a lot of people do he turned to the drank. But this would also be part of his demise, 1:00a.m. on August 17, 2007 Eddie Griffin died in a violent car crash that set his SUV on fire while he burned inside of hit. Griffin had ignored a railroad crossing and ran in to the side of a moving train. Many people speculate on his death on the possibility of it being a suicide, because of all the problems he was going through on and off the court, but the police report stated that his alcohol level was three times the legal limit.

In closing this was a talented young man who may have been a little immature for some of the situations that life was presenting him at the time, but he did achieve his dream of making it to the NBA. That same dream quickly turned to a nightmare with in a couple of years leading to problems on the court and off the court, which sadly killed this former NBA player. One thing that we can take away from this tragic scenario is even if you achieve your Hoop Dream that's just the beginning you still have to actually live it!!

Today I will present Part 2 of our series on Hoop Dreamz Turn to Nightmares featuring none other than the ex NBA Player JR Rider who has went through the full journey of making it to his dream to become a professional athlete and becoming a Nightmare in society. Not to mention spending over $70 million and having nothing to show for it. Whatever the case may be, it reminds Dontknow3 of the Dave Chappell’s skit with Rick James and Charlie Murphy, "They shouldn't have never given you Niggas no money". On the serious side JR Rider was a lottery pick in the NBA Draft and had a ten year career with his share of ups and downs. But with all the money and access he achieved you would think after his career was over he would be set for life. To the contrary, today you might find this former NBA player shuffling through Oakland and LA being picked up by the police for a variety of warrants.

In January 2006, Rider was arrested on kidnapping charges in Marin City, California for taking a female friend in his car against her will. He was charged with domestic abuse and ordered to stay out of Marin City. Despite this court order, he was spotted in the area a few weeks later. A Marin County sheriff's deputy confronted him and while fleeing, Rider hit another car. He was arrested in Alameda County in late 2006 then transferred to the Marin County jail after three judges in that county issued bench warrants against him.

In February 2007, Rider pleaded guilty to several charges, including felony of cocaine possession and evading an officer. He was sentenced to seven months in jail, 120 hours of community service, and three years of probation. He will also have to complete a drug education program.

At sentencing, Rider admitted to a longstanding problem with marijuana. He also disclosed that he begun lacing it with cocaine. On January 65, 2008, Rider was again arrested in Berkeley, California after a confrontation between a taxi driver and a passenger. As a result the police was again called and JR Rider was found to be the passenger. Subsequently, Rider was arrested on a no-bail warrant for unlawful firearm possession and separate $5,000 warrant for grand theft issued by the Oakland Police Department. On March 5, 2008 Isaiah was arrested and was held in the Marin County Jail in San Rafael, California. He was charged and plead guilty for possession of a controlled narcotic substance and disobeying a court order, evading a peace officer, providing false information to a peace officer, and driving on a suspended license. On early Saturday morning of March 29, 2008, Rider was arrested in the Skid Row district of Los Angeles for investigation of auto theft and he was released from Los Angeles County Jail in the afternoon. He was scheduled to appear in court on April 22, 2008.

After a troubled career and personal life what is left for the former Pro athlete who only knows how to survive with an abundance of money and now the well is DRY? What will become of JR Rider? The L A Lakers are the 2009 champion's of the NBA being led by the best player in the game Kobe Bryant and the best coach in the game, Phil Jackson. This is the fourth ring for Kobe and 10th for Phil Jackson. But everyone knows this championship means a lot more to Kobe Bryant than anyone else since he was hell bent on proving he could do it without SHAQ. From Game 1 of the Finals, Kobe came out and set the pace for the series with his dominate play and a mean mug that would make a child cry. The rest of the team just followed his lead and played great team basketball. In Gm 5, Kobe did the same thing he came on the court with one thing in mind and that was winning he dazzled the Orlando Magic fans with hanging fade-aways and several ESPN worthy plays. Trevor Areaza was also a major factor offensively and defensively for the Lakers success, which puts him in a great position for entertaining the free agent market this summer. Derick Fisher also came with his hard hat, solid frame, and went to work. While the whole time Coach Phil Jackson sat on the bench with his cool demeanor and let his team go to work. Not the best NBA Finals, but maybe this will help that Boston vs L A rivalry to start back up. The one sad thing in this series was that even on the bench as a coach Patrick Ewing could still not get a NBA championship ring.

SHAQ is now 37 and hasn't had the dominating impact that everyone expects from him even though he had a OK year in 2008, it is a chance that he could ride Lebron's coattail to another ring. But how lucky is SHAQ or does the NBA have something to do with all these championship ready team's that he land's on. And for Phoenix I guess dumping his salary and receiving to below average players was just what the doctor ordered, Ben Wallace is talking retirement after the season and it hasn't even started yet.
